ABOUT

“...if you enjoy classy melodic rock that doesn’t want to be completely restrained by the genre lines that tag suggests, then this is an album well worth picking up and one that suggests big things for this band in the future...”
Steven Reid - Fireworks Magazine

Silent Victory are the melodic hard rock band from the north-west UK. After 6 years of hard work and an endless gigging the band released their debut album in June 2010. Titled “No Sacred Ground” after the bands motto. It’s crammed with 11 stunning tracks, encompassing a wide variety of influences and styles. A winning mixture of rock, blues, metal and prog with great melodies throughout. Needless to say, it has earned superb reviews everywhere!

The band has had some line-up changes since the album’s release, but they now have a full line up again and are stronger than ever! Work is now well underway on writing their second album, which promises to stretch the boundaries again!

On guitar and lead vocals is Tony Rimmer. Van Halen, Queen, Thunder, The Eagles and Sammy Hagar are the biggest influences for Tony. A keen sense of melody and a knack for great hooks typify his writing style. Pointy headstock, Floyd Rose, humbuckers, red guitars and gain set to maximum, tells you all you need to know about his guitar playing. But it’s his distinctive vocal performance that really makes pinning the band down to a sound-a-like so hard. Melodic, high (sometimes very high), but absolutely balls-out and passionate!

Martin Greenwood is the bands phenomenal keyboard player. Once of legendary 70's prog-rock band Mudanzas, where he played keys and lead vocals, he's been in a variety of working bands over the years, but the lure of playing original material again brought him the Silent Victory. Martin loves prog and melodic rock. He has an up-front style and isn't afraid to take a solo! Martin is also an excellent writer and is bringing his influence to bear new material.

In May 2019 we were joined by Glenn Walsh on bass. Glenn has been playing for over 30 years, playing in several northwest bands with a wide variety of musical styles. Glenn cites influences stretching from Iron Maiden to Black Sabbath and heavier bands such as Megadeth. We were blown away at Glenn's audition. He fitted in with ease and nailed the parts for new songs Momentum and Fantasy.

On guitar, Sean Corker is the no longer the newest recruit. A seriously talented guitar player with a varied musical taste and background. A former school music teacher, with a love of metal, AOR, trance and indie! Sean has brought another dimension to the music. A style quite different to Tony, but both guitarists work brilliantly together, creating some awesome riffs.

The driving force at the back on drums is now TBA! News to follow!

Live this band are a joy to behold. They smile, laugh and have fun through-out. You really can’t help but like them, so miss them at your peril!  Plus they are now racing towards to delivering on the promise of their debut album. The second album is shaping up to be a monster. Who are we to doubt?
